What Gamers Want In Their Christmas Stocking
It’s usually so easy to buy for a gamer – they’d have been beadily eyeing out the new release of their chosen game and would have put it onto their wishlist. But what if they had already gotten everything that they wanted for the year? What could you buy them then?
Rather than resorting to a generic gift, which they would probably regift anyway, get them something special that they can use when they’re gaming. We’ve put together a list of ideas to help you out.
Nintendo Switch
If the gamer that you’re buying for is into console games, it’s a good bet that they’ve heard of the Nintendo Switch (as well as its portable version – Nintendo Switch Lite). For the last couple of years, this console has been on the wish list for most console gamers and it’s still as popular as ever. This console easily docks with your television and has a number of great new games on it.
The Lite version is perfect for gamers who have long commutes, on the subway, to work and want to beat their high scores instead of reviewing the minutes of the previous staff meeting.
Oculus Rift
For gamers who want a really immersive experience in the game, the Oculus Rift VR Headset will be the perfect present for them. This headset offers a premium consumer experience, using virtual reality (VR). The visuals are incredible and the controls let you interact with the game as if you are actually in it.
If you want to steer clear of VR headsets, you can always go for the ‘normal’ type of headset. For those who are not ‘gaming literate,’ these are the ones that go over your ears!
There is a great range of wireless headsets, such as the:
- Astro Gaming A20 Wireless Gaming Headset
- SteelSeries Arctic 1 Wireless Gaming Headset
Gamers always prefer wireless headsets as wires could very well get in the way of them enjoying the game.
Microsoft Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
The world has gone online, loves spinning the reels with friends at canadiancasinoonline.org/slots, and gaming is no exception. No longer do you have to spend fortunes on buying physical console games as this Xbox subscription will allow you access to all the latest and greatest games available – all that needs to be done is to download them and start playing.
Sony PlayStation Plus: 12-Month Membership
Similar to the Xbox subscription, Sony has developed a similar offering for their PlayStation (PS). The only difference is that while Sony’s is for 12 months, Microsoft’s is three months. The PS Plus Membership allows you access to new games each month and also allows you to play games online against friends and fellow gamers.
Controllers
If you’re still stuck about what type of gift you give your gamer, why not choose a controller as this will make gaming more enjoyable for him or her.
Options to choose from (you’d obviously be limited as to what type of console they have) are:
- Microsoft Xbox One Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller
- Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
- Razer Kishi Mobile Game Controller
- Backbone One
